Remains of Mahanayake Thera to Asgiriya Vihara Featured

The remains of Most Ven. Galagama Sri Attadassi Thera, Mahanayake of the Asgiriya Chapter, are to be taken to the Asgiriya Maha Vihara this morning (10).

Following a fall yesterday afternoon, he was rushed to Colombo Teaching Hospital for treatment.

Hospital director Dr. R.M.S. Ratnayake said the top prelate passed away due to a heart attack.

Attadassi Thera was 95 years old.

The funeral committee will meet today to discuss funeral arrangements.
