The lawyer had also appeared for a number of cases, on behalf of several media stations including Sri Lanka Mirror, Ravaya and Sunday Leader.

The lawyer had gone to the Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte Municipal Council for a certain task when she had passed Mr. Premalal, who had seemed to be obstructing the way.

On her way back, the municipal councillor had blocked her way, and in derogatory language had asked whether she did not know who he was.

According to reports, the incident is to be taken up before courts and it is said that the municipal councillor could face upto a 2-year prison sentence if proven guilty.
