Federation of University Teachers' Association (FUTA) has condemned a request made by minister of Higher Education - Lakshman Kiriella to take in one of his supporters as the academic staff of the Kelaniya University.

In a letter to the Department Head - Prof. Upali Hettiarachchi, the minister has requested to employ a one P.D.D. Amarasinghe as a temporary lecturer of political science.

In a letter to President Maithripala Sirisena, FUTA has condemned the move.
