The administration says clothing, hair and facial hair should be according to their culture.
Female students are required to wear saree on Fridays, and all should attend multi-religious activities.

Convener of the Inter Students Union T. Sasidaran said the rights of students would be curtailed due to this code of ethics.
Their freedom and privacy too, would be affected, say students unions, adding that they will raise the issue with the administration.
If the administration fails to listen to them, a continuous struggle will be launched until their demand is met.
Dean of arts Prof. V. Gnanakumaran said the code of ethics has been prepared in accordance with their culture.
It will be implemented following discussions with students unions, he added.
