Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera met the head of the UNDP Helen Clark today (23) and discussed ways of strengthening UN assistance in Sri Lanka's development journey.
Minister Samaraweera will attend the ministerial meeting for the commemoration of the UNDP's 50th anniversary tomorrow.
The UNDP started its work in Sri Lanka in 1967, a year after it was formed, in order to play a critical role in the development of the Mahaweli Master Plan.
