The focus of the discussion is said to be on defence matters.

The Sri Lankan delegation to the talks will be led by foreign affairs minister Mangala Samaraweera.

It will also include top officials in the defence and foreign affairs fields.

On the sidelines of the discussion, minister Samaraweera is to deliver a lecture on reconciliation.
