The fraud relates to the importations of 5,494 vehicles between 2008 and 2011.

Of these, 4,063 vehicles had been registered by falsifying Customs records, including 746 vehicles at lesser values.

The audit has revealed 27 such instances and the loss incurred to the state is yet to be estimated.
