The agreement is valid from 2016 - 2018.
The FBTIEU is the employees' union of Perera & Sons Bakers (Pvt) Ltd.
This is said to be the first time an agreement was reached in the Sri Lankan private sector to provide paternity leave for workers.
Prominent Sri Lankan bakers - Perera & Sons Bakers (Pvt) Ltd has arrived at an agreement with the Food, Beverages, Tobacco and Industries Employees Union (FBTIEU) to grant a 2-day paternity leave inclusive of pay to their employees.
