The Mullaitivu Army camp has a list of LTTE members who had surrendered to the camp during the final days of the war, the area’s Army commander told the Mullaitivu magistrate’s courts yesterday (17).

The court was taking up 14 habeas corpus petitions filed by relatives of the missing LTTEers.

Their lawyer R.S. Ratnavel said quoting the Army officer that the camp also had a list of LTTE members who had been arrested.

2 catholic priests missing

Two catholic priests, who had been summoned by the Army to witness the surrenders and to prepare the lists, too, are missing.

A separate case is being heard with regard to their disappearance, said the lawyer.

The magistrate ordered the Army officer to submit the said lists at the next hearing on 09 April, BBC Sandeshaya reports.
