The teacher, in charge of discipline at the Vavuniya Tamil Maha Vidyalaya, was transferred after he had reprimanded a student for coming to school, dressed in an inappropriate manner.

The teacher, S.Sundararajan has been transferred to the Poonthottam Primary school.

In a media release, the CTU says that the teacher has been transferred as the student had been the son of Northern Province Education Secretary - R. Ravindran.

The union also calls upon authorities to nullify the transfer immediately.
