Jayantha Jayasuriya sworn in as new AG

President’s Counsel Jayantha Jayasuriya took oaths as the Attorney General before the President a short while ago (11).

The Constitutional Council (CC) yesterday recommended the name of Jayantha Jayasuriya to the post of Attorney General.

Jayantha Jayasuriya PC joined the Attorney-General's Department in November 1983. He was appointed as the Additional Solicitor-General in 2011. He succeeds Yuvanjana Wijayatilake P.C who retired as AG on January 10.
