The Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) has formally pledged its support for common Presidential candidate Maithripala Sirisena, its leader Patali Champika Ranawaka declared at a press conference in Pita Kotte.

The JHUs backing for Maithripala comes in the aftermath of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two parties.

Champika Ranawaka MP will be one of the main speakers at the election campaign of Maithripala.

He is scheduled to make his first appearance with Maithripala on stage at a meeting in Matara on December 4.
