Minister of Education - Akila Viraj Kariyawasam is to submit a draft Bill on this regard at parliament, soon.

The minister has reportedly obtained assistance from scholars of education prior to drafting the Bill.

As a result of any individual being able to open an international school by registering it as a company at the present, some have deceived parents by operating schools which does not provide quality education.

Taking the above into consideration the Ministry of Education has decided to implement rules and bring the international schools under formal legal framework.
