The ministry of Health has briefed the staff at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport to send any Zika patients directly to the Angoda Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH).

The hospital is prepared to treat any possible Zika patients - IDH Director Dr. S.M. Arnell says.

Meanwhile, a special awareness programme initiated from yesterday (31) to inform any individuals arriving in Sri Lanka to get checked for Zika at the Airport health unit if they are suffering from symptoms of fever.
