Capt. De Silva is the personal secretary to Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka.

Both were imprisoned by the then Rajapaksa administration following the 2010 presidential polls.

Fonseka’s party, the Democratic Party, too, is to sign a MoU with the UNP.

Both Fonseka and de Silva have held several rounds of talks with the UNP leadership regarding their alliances, the sources added.
