Homagama Magistrate yesterday (25) issued the arrest warrant on the Thera on charges of contempt of court.
The Thera was subsequently arrested and is to be produced before courts.
Reports say that the Thera was accompanied by nearly 50 Buddhist monks when he surrendered.
