Japan to send envoy for post-review on Geneva proposals Featured

The Japanese government will send a special envoy on January 24 to Sri Lanka to discuss and help formulate a practicable plan on implementing the Geneva proposals on alleged war crimes.

Methu Nebuchi is a specialist judge on crime investigation and a consultant on Sri Lanka’s post-review process.

He will facilitate the implementation of the Geneva proposals before the upcoming UNHRC sessions.

During his trip, the Japanese official will hold talks with the Sri Lankan president, prime minister, foreign affairs minister and civil society representatives.
