He was speaking to us on the sudden blocking of 'Sri Lanka Mirror' by Dialog.
I responsibly state that the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission has not ordered to impose an access control on 'Sri Lanka Mirror', he added.
Mr. Herath also that according to the consensus they had recently arrived with the Professional Web Journalists Association, they are taking measures to remove the access control imposed on the website by 'Sri Lanka Telecom'.
When asked to comment on the matter, a spokeswoman of Dialog Axiata's technical unit said they accepted that their subscribers were unable to access the website but claimed they did not know why it happened.
She also accepted that the TRC has not ordered to impose a block.
Exposé behind Mirror block?
Meanwhile, unofficial reports cite that the reason for the sudden block is several recent articles published by 'Sri Lanka Mirror' exposing misdeeds of Dialog Axiata.
Reports also cite that the order was passed by Dialog CEO - Dr. Hans Wijesuriya.
Efforts made by our reporters to reach out to Dr. Wijesuriya for his reaction proved futile.
