He asked officials to inform him if there was any difficulty in implementing the decision.
The minister was addressing the first meeting of district secretaries for 2016.
He also said the budget has allocated funds for the implementation of the Grama Rajya concept, as per the UNP’s five-point policy statement.
At this meeting, district secretaries were made aware of how to extensively take to the villages the development programme of the government.
Minister Abeywardena gave solutions to certain issues raised by the officials, and requested other matters be given to him in writing, in order for him to submit them to the cabinet.
He said that MPs have not been given funds for 2015, but every electorate was given money, with which Rs. 60 m worth of work has been done.
