They have already held a meeting in Colombo.
Among them are a Nayake Thera who is involved in the importation of vehicle spare-parts, others doing book publications, importation of robes from Thailand as well as monks accused of engaging in money laundering and human trafficking, reports say.
Proposals contained in the draft bill were first given by a group of Nayake Theras to former president Mahinda Rajapaksa, who did not submit it to parliament due to opposition by monks close to him.
Meanwhile, Ven. Ittepane Dhammalankara Nayake Thera, expressing his support for the draft bill, told a meeting in Kalutara yesterday (16) that parliament should adopt it.
