The Central Environmental Authority (CEA) of the Southern province will initiate a noise pollution control programme to create awareness on over-use of vehicle horns disturbing and upsetting road users, including pedestrians.
The programme will be held on Jan. 18 from 9.00am - 2.00pm in front of the Board of Investment Koggala branch facing the Galle-Matara main road.
Medical specialist - Dr. Sisira Athulgama says that the loud tooting of horns is a major contributor to noise pollution in the city and could lead to auditory issues among road users
