CID questions 'Ravaya' distributors Featured

The CID has questioned several distributing dealers of 'Ravaya' newspaper due to the controversial title of the lead news in this week's issue, reports say.

Approaching leading dealers of the newspaper in main cities such as Colombo, early this morning (28), a group identifying themselves as CID personnel has obtained details of other distributers and the volume of the distributed Ravaya newspapers.

The title of today's 'Ravaya' newspaper lead news cites that the Intelligence chief who had said Maithri Sirisena gets 59% while Mahinda Rajapaksa gets 41%, has been ousted.

The news report is based on an intelligence unit report, reports say.

Upon inquiring from 'Ravaya' editor - K.W. Janaranjana on this regard, we learnt that this week's 'Ravaya' issue hit the newsstands only today due to a delay in the press. He added that the delay also forced the distribution to be limited to several main cities including Colombo.

He further said that dealers of these areas have already informed the 'Ravaya' office that the CID has questioned them about the newspaper's distribution points and volumes.
