This is in view of the increase in the NBT from two per cent to four per cent and amendments to the VAT.
This will be in addition to the budget proposal to increase the VET to Rs. 1,500.
For motor cycles, the new rate is Rs. 425, up from Rs. 410.
The other increases are from Rs. 505 to Rs. 520 for three wheelers, From Rs. 1,100 to Rs. 1,130 for cars, from Rs. 1,190 to Rs. 1,225 for dual-purpose vehicles, from Rs. 1,550 to Rs. 1,605 for lorries and from Rs. 1,010 to Rs. 1,040 for buses.
The Department of Motor Traffic says it is yet to be notified of the increase in the charge to Rs. 1,500.
