It is said that he is charged of directing rice towards Pettah markets, after obtaining stocks which were imported at a low price, on the directives of a special Presidential commission.
It is revealed that Sathosa officials have secretly gone abroad with affiliates of this businessman to do a quality check before bringing these rice stocks down to Sri Lanka.
According to reports, the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC) recently obtained statements from several businessmen on this regard.
