The Public Health Inspector's Union says that letters of warning have been issued to around 500 shops selling food items unfit for consumption.

Over 400 shop owners are to face legal redress after 6,000 shops were inspected.

The raids have been intensified in the festive season with around PHIs deployed to conduct raids islandwide 24/7.

CAA on the watch
The Consumer Affairs Authority too, says that stern action would be taken against traders misleading customers during the festive season.

The CAA is to give special attention to violating price ceilings, selling expired goods and misleading customers.
