Their identification came during a detailed study of the CCTV camera footage relating to the incident.

The computer unit of the Colombo University is currently looking into the footage.

Three of the four suspects are Navy personnel, said police sources.

Meanwhile, four top police officers are to be questioned on December 22 in connection with the killing of Thajudeen.

They include the then DIG in charge of the western province Anura Senanayake and DIG of Colombo S.A.D.S. Gunawardena.

OICs of several police stations too, are to be interrogated, said the sources.
