Govt. aims to secure pension - Ranil

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe has emphasised that the pension of government employees will not be abolished.

Speaking in Parliament today (14), the Prime minister said that the government aims to secure the pension scheme.

He also said that the Rs.10,000 monthly allowance given to the government employees will be added to their basic salary in three stages from next year January.

Wickremasinghe added therefore Rs.2000 will be added to the basic salary from next year January as the first stage of the process.

Interim fee for Emission Test, Revenue License
The Prime minister also said that the Emission Test Fee and Revenue License Fee are being reconsidered.

The Prime Minister said that the Finance Minister is open for discussion if there is a requirement to make amendments to the aforementioned fee and until concessions on these matters are provided the Cabinet has decided to announce an interim fee.
