He was speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror' after giving a statement to the CID earlier today.

He and the newspaper's deputy editor - Subhash Jayawardena were summoned to the CID this morning (10) to give a statement over the publication of an article attributed to Avant Garde chief retired Maj. Nissanka Senadhipathi.

In that article, Senadhipathi has made remarks that tarnished the reputation of three ministers, one of them Rajitha Senaratne has complained to the IGP.

Speaking further, Gunaratne added that if things continue to happen this way, this government too, would fall into disrepute even sooner than the Rajapaksa government.
