Producer of Metropolitan-imported finger printing pads faked? Featured

Labels of nearly 300 finger printing pads, bought by the Department of Registration of Persons to obtain finger prints for the new national identity card, have allegedly been faked.

These pads had been imported by Metropolitan Company at low cost from some other country and labels affixed at the Department to claim that they had been produced at ID Technologies of the US.

For the test runs, the State Trading Corporation had imported the pads.

A pad cost Rs. 14,000.

These pads have been distributed to Grama Seva divisions and to police stations.
