In a gazette extraordinary dated 20 November, the defence secretary has amended the list of designated entities and individuals.
It says three clear resurgence attempts were made within the country between 2012 and 2014 with assistance from pro-LTTE groups operating overseas.
The new gazette amends the gazette extraordinary no. 1854/41 of 21 March 2014.
It further proscribes the LTTE, TRO, TCC, WTM, TGTE, TEPA, WTRF and HQ Group.
The GTF and the foreign affairs minister had a meeting in London in March.
