In the meantime, Ven. Dambara Amila Thera, senior lecturer at Sri Jayewardenepura University, says he has accepted the position at the invitation of the executive council of the Movement.

However, national committee member Saman Ratnapriya rejected the Thera’s claim, adding that Prof. Sarath Wijesuriya has been appointed on a temporary basis.

The executive council of the Movement has summoned an urgent meeting to discuss this matter, according to reports reaching Sri Lanka Mirror.
