Commenting on the Avant Garde issue, he said he never said the company was correct, adding that he intervened to counter attempts to use it to attack the UNP.
Fernando said he has made it clear the contract reached with the previous regime gave Avant Garde the legal protection.
He said he pointed out the correctness of the legal argument raised Wijedasa Rajapakse and Thilak Marapana, but never said the company was correct.
