Centres to educate youths on sexuality, reproductive health

Centres to educate youths on sexuality, reproductive health Featured

The young generation is lacking in proper and adequate understanding about sexuality and reproductive health, says community health specialist Dr. Harishchandra Yakandawala.

This situation has resulted in higher prevalence of abortion, maternity death and abuse of women and children, he says.

He was speaking at a media briefing organized by the Family Planning Association and the Family Health Bureau.

He noted that speedy solutions needs to be found for this issue, with one step to be taken being the setting up of youth friend centres island wide.

Only schools and universities presently have such facilities at present.
