As the country’s president, commander-in-chief, defence minister and the key public servant, Mr. Sirisena said he would safeguard the dignity of the armed forces.
Those who contributed to the historic war victory will not be allowed to be belittled or insulted in any way, he assured.
Authorities will fulfill their obligations to ensure that no one in or outside the country can level finger at Sri Lanka, he said, adding that all steps would be taken unwaveringly to safeguard the war victory despite any challenge.
