A special meeting was held under the auspices of the PM at the Lighthouse Hotel, Galle to discuss future development plans in the city.

Officials were also instructed to relocate all museums within the Fort to a single building outside the Fort. Also, the Prime minister urged to commence development activities while preserving the historic heritage of the site.

Locations of the Galle Railway station, Prison and Nurses' training centre near the Mahamodara Hospital were also discussed.

Ministers Wajira Abeywardena and Gayantha Karunatillake as well as RDA officials had also attended the meeting.
