He was kidnapped on 10 January 2010 at Rajagiriya, taken to the MIC camp at Giritale, where he had been questioned for several days, before being taken to an Army camp at Welikanda, the CID has now established.

The confirmation has come through information given by the arrested suspects, who had also been taken to the Giritale camp, where they pointed out the locations the journalist had been detained.

Eleven men, including Army intelligence officials, are under arrest over the incident.
