An official from the police media unit told Xinhua that out of the total school children injured, 13 were male and 8 were female. They had arrived in the area on a school visit.

Four men and one woman were also injured in the attack and they were all rushed to nearby hospitals.

Four students are said to be in a serious condition following the attack.
