Sports ministry officials have been banned by minister Dayasiri Jayasekara from accepting positions, including as coaches, in sports associations.

Already, several ministry officials are holding key positions in sports associations, while some others function as coaches.

Ministry secretary Dr. C.M.M. Dissanayake has been told to write to them, informing them of the decision, according to reports reaching Sri Lanka Mirror.
