Secretary of the commission Lasil de Silva said the team had gone there, as Rajapaksa had not responded summons to appear before the commission.
Rajapaksa has told Neth FM that he had been questioned with regard to the non-payment of money for his advertisements telecast by ITN during the last presidential election.
He has said that he contested as the UPFA candidate, and that it was not him, but its general secretary who should be questioned over the propaganda matters of the presidential polls.
BBC Sandeshaya reports that ITN incurred a loss of Rs. 20 million due to the non-payment of the dues by Rajapaksa.
There is another allegation that advertisements of Rajapaksa’s challenger Maithripala Sirisena were not telecast and the money paid by him returned, causing further losses to ITN.
Rajapaksa also stands accused of replacing Rosmund Senaratne with Anura Siriwardena as the ITN chairman soon after election campaigning began.
The ex-president was also to be questioned as to why he was charged a low amount, whereas his challenger was charged a higher amount for the advertisements.
The presidential commission questioned former minister Keheliya Rambukwella, secretary to the president Lalith Weeratunga and ex-finance secretary P.B. Jayasundara on September 16 regarding the same matter.
