He is making comments to Sri Lanka Mirror when asked about a link between pornography and sexual abuse, the most recent incident being the finding of pornographic literature from the laptop of one of the main suspects in the killing of girl Seya Sadevmi of Kotadeniyawa.
Nalin said pornography pollutes the mind to some extent, adding however, a big opinion is made in the internet without making a proper research.
He noted that US films have many scenes of gun use, but Indian cinema does not have such scenes, but rapes do occur in India at the rate of one rape per every 20 minutes.
Also, he said the scratching of the mirror wall of Sigiriya fortress was depicted as an organized plan to destroy artifacts of Sri Lanka.
Society hastens to make opinions with regard to occurrences that are difficult to comprehend, he said.
Although we claim that technology has developed, with smart phones, laptops etc. in this electronic age, society is without even the general knowledge which our adult generation has had in the past, he said.

He added that he believed Sri Lanka was stepping fast towards ignorance.
