Amidst national govt talks national crimes ignored - Thenuwara Featured

Former president of the Federation of University Teachers Association (FUTA) Dr. Chandraguptha Thenuwara has stated that amidst the discussions on the national government the national crimes are swept under the carpet.

The investigations into fraud and corruption which commenced after 8 January were not mere election promises but a request made by over 6 million population during the presidential election, he says.

He made these comments addressing the press briefing at Center for Society and Religion in Maradana.

Expressing his thoughts further Dr. Thenuwara stated that the companies such as Rakna Lanka were established to fulfill political needs.

His voice which was raised even among the corruptions and mistreatment of the dictator Mahinda Rajapaksa, will not remain silent under good governance he said, adding that the investigations should be conducted against the individuals who take measures against good governance.
