The accident had taken place when a defender vehicle in which the PSD officers were travelling in had collided with a bus at Miriswatte on the Minuwangoda-Colombo Road.

Two in the defender had died on the spot while two more succumbed to their injuries later, police say.

Six persons who were injured have been admitted to the Minuwangoda Hospital and later transferred to the Gampaha Hospital.
