The Kaduwela magistrate’s court yesterday (09) issued an interim order banning the sale, lease or temporary transfer of the CSN sports channel which is said to be owned by the Rajapaksas.

The order is pursuant to a FCID submission under B/9823.

The FCID, investigating as to how funding was received to start the channel, has been permitted by courts to summon its directors for questioning under the Money Laundering Act.

Several wealthy businessmen with links to the new government are trying to buy CSN channel.

FCID summons Nimal Perera

Meanwhile, it is said that businessman Nimal Perera has given money to the CSN channel to start the CSN Channel.

It is said that he is to be summoned to the FCID soon for questioning.

Speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror' on this regard, Acting police media spokesman Priyantha Jayakody said that they are yet to officially learn of such a summons.
