The National Child Protection Authority is investigating the forced detention of an underage novice monk, despite his calls that he be sent to his mother.

A NCPA spokesman told Sri Lanka Mirror that they have located the monk while investigating a complaint.

While stressing the need for justice for this child, social media is discussing the abuse of children in the name of religion.
