A communique was handed over today (07) to the UN office in Colombo with regard to the death of Aylan Kurdi, the 3-year-old Syrian refugee who had drowned together with his 5-year-old brother Ghalib and mother Rehan in the Mediterranean sea while trying to escape Syria.
The communique was handed over by a group including Colombo District MP - Mujibur Rahman.
The group also had also expressed their displeasure over the response of EU countries with regard to the migrants fleeing to Europe.
The communique also urged the UN to intervene and seek measures to solve the migrant issue and the war situation in Syria.
