There is no poison in Thriposha and it is 100 percent safe to consume Thriposha issued by the Government for pregnant mothers and children, Director of the Nutrition Coordination Unit Dr. Shanthi Gunawardana said.

According to Dr. Gunawardana, a recent newspaper report on Thriposha had hinted to having poison in Thriposha.

But it is a completely fabricated story with no proof. Thriposha is being produced by the Sri Lanka Thriposha Limited (SLTL) a factory attached to the Health and Indigenous Medicine Ministry. It costs Rs. 2500 million per year. The quality and the safety of Thriposha is 100 percent assured since the 1970s. It is the only free high nutrient available for mothers and children, she added.
