Foreign degree holders repeatedly fail ERPM

Foreign degree holders repeatedly fail ERPM Featured

Around 800 Sri Lankans who have obtained medical degrees overseas have repeatedly failed the Sri Lanka Medical Council’s examination for them to become eligible to practise medicine here, ‘Silumina’ reports.

Some of them have even not passed the compulsory maths subject at the Advanced Level examination.

Before obtaining internship, it is mandatory to pass the examination for registration to practice medicine in Sri Lanka (ERPM).

This written, oral and clinical exam comprises medicine, pediatrics, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, judicial medicine and pathology.
