The Badulla District Disaster Management Center warns that there is a risk of chemicals contaminating the National Water Supply and Drainage board water source in Kahagolla, Diyathalawa, as a result of a lorry transporting chemical material; toppling over in close proximity to the water source.

Assistant Director of the Badulla District Disaster Management Center E.M.L Udayakumara said that persons using water in the Kahagolla, Kolathanna, Karagahawela and Mathotilla areas need remain cautious when consuming water.

General manager of the National water supply and drainage board Ranjith Balasooriya said that the water supply from this source to Diyathalawa and Haputhale has been suspended.
