President Maithripala Sirisena, prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and ex-president Chandrika Kumaratunga have arrived at this decision.
They decided to amend several subjects of the cabinet appointed for the 100 day programme to prevent the SLFP from not getting key ministries.
Either the president or the premier will directly supervise the subjects of certain ministries, and several ministers will have subjects of national importance.
Swearing in tomorrow
Accordingly, the swearing in of the cabinet before president Sirisena will take place tomorrow morning (27).
The appointment of the cabinet will be made in two stages, and 35 ministers will take their oaths tomorrow, said a senior UNPer.
The delay is due to the SLFP’s having differences over accepting ministerial portfolios, he said.
