Tweeps say defeated candidates should not be in Parliament

A very novel and a youthful campaign is on against defeated candidates being brought to parliament through the National List, with Tweeps organizing a protest at Independence Square from 02 pm tomorrow Saturday.

Through Tweets there is now a strong lobby evolving against what they say is a shameless attempt by party leaders to deform the people's verdict, by bringing in candidates who were rejected by the people, but loyal to them.

The first ever attempt to organise such a protest through a Twitter campaign is gaining momentum and is worth monitoring and joining in says Senior journalist Kusal Perera who also said a new conscious and an alternate civil society is trying to find its feet in social media.
